In the days of the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ on earth, when He was living among men, preaching about the Kingdom of God in the cities and towns of Judea and the surrounding countries, "healing every disease and every plague in the people", in Edessa, a city in Syria on the other side of the river Euphrates, there lived a prince named Agar. He suffered from an incurable disease, <unk> leprosy: on the outside he was covered with blue sores; on the inside he felt his bones broken and he was sick.
