Saint Lupus, the martyr, lived during the reign of Emperor Aurelian, and was a slave to a certain master, but he was free in Christ the Lord (cf. 1 Cor 7:22), in whom he believed; filled with pious jealousy, Saint Lupus smashed the lifeless Elven idols and threw others into the depths of the sea.
