The memory of the holy martyr Eutychus
Saint Eutychus was a native of Sevastopol [Sevastopol (or Sevastia) was the name of several cities in antiquity; what Sevastopol was meant in this case is unknown.] Hearing of the good news of Christ's name, he left his parents and friends and came to the beloved disciple and Apostle John the Theologian [Remember him September 26 and May 8].

Kondack, voice 3: The co-representative of the Apostles, and the saint of beauty, Eutyches, was martyred, became famous, shone like the sun, enlightening everyone, and destroyed this godless night deep. For this reason we venerate him as the divine truth of the sacred mystery of Christ.

This holy martyr was a native of Mantineia, which was in the Clavdiopoli metropolitanate and the Honoriad diocese [Mantineia and Claudiopolis were in the Honoriad region of the northwestern Roman province of Bithynia.
